DIALED: 12 Weeks of Non-Linear Training

A lot of cookie-cutter programs don’t scale, and give the average climber way too much to do right from the start. This can lead to burnout, decreased motivation, or injury for some climbers. At Tangent, we don’t feel good about being wholly uninvolved when you purchase a program from us.
Plus, guess what? If you’re a routesetter, guide, or have some other physically-demanding job, we have a separate base program especially for you. Just let us know in the form you will be prompted with when you add this program to your cart.
This program is delivered through the Sequence training app and includes:
Customization, dialed to suit you. When you purchase this program, you get a 30-minute consultation call with Taylor. We will use this time to collaborate on tweaks to the base program that will tailor the training to suit your needs. You also have access to Taylor through the app and via email throughout the program. This allows us to make adjustments as needed.
12 weeks of non-linear training. Three unique workouts: Three-to-Eight, Fifteen-to-Forty, and Sixty-to-Eighty. The workout names correspond to the number of moves generally associated with strength and power, power endurance, and endurance training, respectively. There are short weight training and hangboarding workouts following each climbing session, but note that this program is highly practice based. There is an option for a fourth session each week — this is either a “free” day, executed with intention, or you will repeat one of the three base sessions.
Instruction beyond the physical. Each session includes notes on mental, technical, and tactical considerations, as well as the target physical adaptations. Video presentations on navigating training sustainably, the basics of strength training, in-depth session breakdowns, the basics of mental approaches for confident climbing.
Options for rope climbing or bouldering. Did we mention this program is customizable? While one of the workouts is bouldering-only, the others have rope or bouldering options available, making this program incredibly flexible.
Please allow for at least 10-14 days of lead time from purchase date to starting date. This gives us adequate time to meet and make tweaks. You will have access to complete a primer week (we call it Week 0) with some strength testing in the time it takes us to get everything set up specifically for you.
